Among the hundreds of stands, most of them presented of course agricultural machinery. However, it was also possible to find out what manufacturers of plant protection products, mineral fertilisers and seeds had to offer. Cattle breeders were not short of attractions either, as they were able to admire the cattle on specially prepared stands. There were also plenty of places where children could spend time playing.
Among the many global and Polish manufacturers of agricultural machinery, the JOSKIN brand obviously couldn't miss this event. A total of three machines were on display at our dealers' stands. Anderwald presented a Modulo2 11000ME slurry tanker fitted with a Pendislide START 9 spreading boom from the ADM11000V/7-22 series. Agro-Efekt exhibited a Ferti-Space 6511BU Horizon muck spreader from the ADFS6511H/1-01 series. Modulo tankers are a true bestseller in the extensive JOSKIN product range. So it is not surprising that we were able to talk to many owners of these machines and potential buyers. Current owners seemed very interested in the spreading implements that can accompany their machines. There was a significant number of customers who had submitted applications under the OSN program (vulnerable zones) and had the opportunity to see a spreading boom or a tanker with their own eyes. The high prices of mineral fertilisers and their at least partial replacement by slurry or digestate have often been discussed. Another important point was the introduction of the new rules of the Common Agricultural Policy and the associated eco-schemes. Expensive fertilisers and additional subsidies per hectare have resulted in a very high number of inquiries about spreading booms and injectors. However, most of the farmers concerned made no secret of the fact that the decision to purchase would only be taken once a contract had been signed with ARiMR.
There were also a lot of inquiries about the muck spreader exhibited at Agro-Efekt’s stand. Customers especially appreciated the versatility of the Horizon machine. The ability to spread lime or chicken manure over large widths with a great precision is part of the current trend in muck spreaders with horizontal beaters and a spreading table. Most of the machines of this type presented at the show were equipped with horizontal beaters.
After three days of fair and hundreds of discussions, we can say that Opolagra 2023 was a very successful event. Farmers from southern Poland came in large numbers to visit the trade show at Kamień Śląski airport. Despite the difficult situation the agricultural industry currently has to face due to falling prices for agricultural products, it is clear that Polish farmers are keen to evolve and invest in new machinery. In all likelihood, as soon as the economy improves, many of the discussions held at the show will lead to purchases.
